BCW (Black Cannabis Week) is one of DACO's annual programming initiatives. It focuses on organizing cannabis events that span across the African diaspora. These events can occur in virtual and physical settings, offering opportunities for individuals to engage and participate. The primary aim of BCW is to provide a global platform that uplifts and empowers Black individuals within the cannabis industry, allowing their voices and contributions to be recognized and celebrated.

What is Daco?

The Diasporic Alliance for Cannabis Opportunities (DACO) is a community organization with a nonprofit fiduciary relationship with Marijuana Justice a 501c3. Our main goal is to raise awareness about educational, wellness, and economic prospects in the cannabis industry across the diaspora. We strive to foster a balanced and thriving cannabis community that promotes both physical and mental well-being.

  • The stigma associated with cannabis has negatively impacted Black communities directly and indirectly. Achievements of those who have advanced despite reprehension go almost without notice in the cannabis industry.

  • BCW was created as a themed week to highlight Black businesses, brands, organizations, and local activists during a 7-day time frame to engage and renew the commitment toward a more informed, safe and equitable cannabis community
